Human beings are dependent on few basic needs for living without which they cannot survive. These basic needs are food (including water), shelter and clothes.
Food is our basic need. We cannot live without food. It gives us the energy to work and play. It makes us strong and healthy. It helps us to grow it protects us from diseases.
A human being needs shelter to protect themselves. They need house to protect themselves from rain, cold, sun, wild animals, etc.
Some kind of houses are:
Kaccha House is made of mud, wood straw, bamboo, etc. Such houses are usually seen in villages or small towns.
Pucca House is made of bricks, cement, wood and iron. It is a pucca or permanent house. There are big, multi-storied building which has many flats and houses.
Temporary House is made by people for a particular purpose.
House Boats float on water. These houses are called house boats. They are made up of wood. These house boats are seen in Kashmir.
Caravan are the houses which move from one place to another. They are built on wheels and, is therefore also called ‘House on Wheels’. Gupies and banjaras live in Caravan.
Igloos are made up of ice. These houses are found in very cold regions.
Tents are made by people like scouts and soldiers who move from one place to another. They do not build a permanent house. They live in tents.
Clothes are one of the basic needs of a human being. Before clothes were made man used to cover himself with skin of animals or bark of tree or with leaves.
Clothes cover our body and protect us from heat, cold, rain and dust.
