Introduction
This is probably one of the most interesting things to for the kids out there. This is one of the best ways to see the water flowing through the stem of the flowers.
This is a classic and fun thing to do with friends and folks and experimenting this is even more fun than the usual. It is sure to give you a “WOW" reaction every time you see it or do it. The experiment explains how water travels all the way through the stem with the help of the xylem to get to the levels of the xylem.
Apparatus
- Stems of white flowers that are bright like gerberas or daisies.
- A jar that is filled up with water and different colours/shades of food colouring.
Procedure
Result
Well, the kids conducted these experiments and they were really curious to find out on how the experiment actually happened.
So, before the experiment started, the kids drew this on their paper.
After waiting for as long as the experiments were on, the deduction was quite clear. The students saw the conclusion and this is what they came up with.
Conclusion
However, things were different with older children as they had other predictions and experimental results. They could validly name the part of the plants and also wrote the way the water moves through the xylem to the stems and finally to the petals.
