Introduction
We all have had eggs for dinner. Sometimes while making an omelette, you break open them on the floor itself while looking at your breakfast all ruined. At those times you wish that if your egg had the superpower to maybe bounce back just like a rubber ball, it would have saved him though you won't eat it again but still, a bouncing egg after all. Isn't it fun? How about some fun egg science experiment?
The entire science experiment is based on chemistry.
Here is how you can make one for yourself.
Apparatus
- A boiled egg which you do not intend to eat.
- One raw egg which is easily available in the market.
- Two jars probably transparent so that you can keep a check of the phenomenon.
- Vinegar, not a lot but at least that much so that both the egg can be covered by it or else the magic will fail.
Let's start then.
Procedure
Result
- What went wrong, eh? Well, we need to wait for one day while the process of bubbling occurs and then on the next day, you need to change the vinegar or else your egg would look like this if you try to make it bounce.
Now when you do it right and rinse the egg with cold water you will get the final output as this which would make you happy.
Conclusion
Look at this transparent wonder. Heavenly no?
Not only this, try to make it bounce and it will but do not try too hard as if you are breaking a coconut, or it will break just like a coconut does.
Well, you can have a little bit of your own fun too while you can add the colour to the vinegar solution to make the transparent egg as coloured one.
Notice that the raw egg is a bit bigger in size. We discussed that earlier because it absorbs vinegar and hence becomes bigger.
So that's how you can make a cool transparent bouncy egg of your own. Now when you know the tips and tricks, let's have some fun with science, shall we?
